OMAP L138 C6run succession

Hi, I have a cross platform code base that I need to get running on our OMAP L138 LCDK boards. In the past our code has been used succesfully on a different L138 dev board, in that case c6run was used to run the software from the arm chip, load onto the dsp, and provide functionality such as fread and printing. In my research for how to update our methods for the new board, I have learnt that c6run is no longer supported, among other things we were using (cmem, dsplink...). We have made the decision to move to whatever tool TI currently recommends to run software on this dev board.

I have not been able to find the answer to the question 'if c6run is deprecated, what is the new way to do the same thing'. I am currently investigating syslink, I see it or slaveloader providing the ability to load the dsp core with the binary. I have not been able to work out how we will read from files on the linux machine, or even printf to the linux terminal where the binary was started. Any help here will be greatly appreciated, I know I have likely not provided enough information, let me know what you need.

Thank you

What I have running: I have compiled linux 3.3 from the latest mcsdk, along with syslink and the syslink examples. these all run fine so far.
