RTOS/AM5728: OCMC RAM definition in EtherCAT Master

Part Number: AM5728

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

Hello, TI Experts,

Our customer sent us questions about "how to add the new memory area of OCMC_RAM2"

with below EtherCAT-Master reference design(TIDEP0079) by using TI-RTOS(PROCESSOR-SDK-RTOS-AM57X).

http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/tidubz1b/tidubz1b.pdf

They would like to add other memory area for their programs to OCMC_RAM2.

But the below CCS project is already configured for EC-Master program in DDR Memory area.

(We also add our test TMDXIDK5728-CCS project as a reference.)

https://www.acontis.com/en/ethercat-for-ti-processors.html

Question:

- Could you tell us how to add the new memory area of OCMC_RAM2 for their new programs?

Best regards,

RTOS/AM5728: SBL build issue

Part Number: AM5728

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

Hello, TI Experts,

Our customer sent us questions about "SBL build with CCS:8.3.0.00009" by using TI-RTOS(PROCESSOR-SDK-RTOS-AM57X).

They reported us the below strange behavior for SBL build referring below link.

http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Creating_a_CCS_Project_for_SBL_on_AM572x_GP_EVM

The link said like below;

   "Placing sbl_init.S at the top of the link order ensures that the Entry symbol is placed at the correct location."

So they created the Link Order from the link guide.

And then they checked "ganerated makefile" after build.

But this Link order is different like below.

And we also checked the same procedure with CCS:8.1.0.00011.

And the generated makefile seems to be proper Link Order like below.

Questions:

   - Could you tell us how to solve this problem with CCSv8.3?

   - Why is the link order of generated makefile with CCSv8.3 is different order of "Link order configuration" in preference setting?

Best regards,

Linux/TMDX654IDKEVM: Temperature reading

Tool/software: Linux

Hello,

I was able to read temperature of the SOC in linux from /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone*/temp.

Is any rule to convert that value in a physical temperature? I assume  that this value is divided by 1000 but I observed that the value is fluctuating by 2-3 degrees every 1 second since we are not running any complex app on the cores.

Best regards!

66AK2G12: 66AK2G12 power supply

Part Number: 66AK2G12

Hello Champs,

According to the requirement of data sheet, the power supply for 66AK2G12 on customer product board is CVDD&CVDDD1:0.9V, DVDD_DDR:1.35V, DVD18:1.8V and DVD33:3.3V. At present, the work is basically normal. Because DDR may not be used in their application, DVDD_DDR can be connected to 1.35V according to the working conditions recommended in section 5.4 of data sheet,DVDD_DDR can be connected to DVDD18. So I did an experiment like this:

1. Disabling DDR in Firmware;

2. At this time, the voltage and current of PCBA are 5V/0.56A.

3. Remove DDR device U15 and VTT power U16 from the board, then connect DVDD_DDR to DVD18. After power-on, PCBA can work normally and access DSP through GUI, but the working current of PCBA becomes 0.64A, about 80 mA more than before.

It is said that the power consumption should be reduced theoretically without DDR and DDR power supply, but the power consumption will be increased instead. Since there is no more detailed description of connecting DVDD_DDR to 1.8V without DDR in datasheet, I do not know whether it is OK to do so, whether it is normal to increase the power consumption, and whether it will produce the reliability of DSP. Adverse effects? Thank you.

When DDR EMIF is not being used, the DVDD_DDR supply may be connected to a 1.8 V power source to eliminate the 1.35 V power.source which is required when using DDR EMIF.

Thanks.

Hi,

We intent to use the lcd1 interface for hdmi on our custom board.

The block diagram of the circuit is as follows,

We have made required changes in the pin mux and added lcd node in the device tree.

(Please visit the site to view this file)

We needed some guidance in device tree for bringing up the hdmi interface from lcd1 port.

Hello,

I just got my hands on the processor sdk linux-rt-am437x-evm-06.00.00.07 and I am trying to boot Linux on an idkAM437x

What I did so far is :

-Create a SD card with the script : create-sdcard.sh

-Create a boot/ directory in the rootfs partition of the sd card

-Paste the following files in that directory : am437x-gp-evm-hdmi.dtb and zImage (from ti-processor-sdk-linux-rt-am437x-evm-06.00.00.07/targetNFS/boot/)

Here is what I get as a result :

Hi,

I've got a build issue with the new processor SDK 06.00.00.07 building the image "arago-core-tisdk-image".

1. I setup the build environment as described here:

I've got a problem with package u-boot-k3-r5:

With configuration "processor-sdk-05.03.00.07-config.txt" the built just runs fine.

Can anyone help me or give me a hint in the right direction?

RTOS/AM5728: Toggling LED on my Custum board

Part Number: AM5728

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

Hello,

I would like some assistance to start coding on my custom board based on a SOC AM5728. I received the prototype boards few weeks ago, and I made some good progress in term of hardware debugging.

I already checked :

- The power supplies sequences at bootup. Everythinks looks like the recommandations

- The system boot configuration is correct. I verified the value of the boot pins in the corresponding register via FTDI emulation "CTRL_CORE_BOOTSTRAP"

The remaining tasks are (where I needs assistance):

- Test the system clock : The 20MHz oscillator is good, but I don't know how to use the clock tree tool. Does this tool generate some code?

- DDR initialisation: I filled the DDR spreadsheet according to my specific layout and the DDR datasheet. It generate some  "U-boot" and "gel file" output code but I don't know where to use it.

Actually, to begin, I just want to use the diagnostic source code "LED_TEST" provided in the PDK to manage my own LED on my boards. For this, I followed the guide and performed the followings steps:

1. Re build a custom library

- I used the pinmux tool that generated some sources files.

- I copy past the evm572x folder, renamed it as "MasterNxG" board, included the pinmux source files previously generated, and follow the procedure provided by TI

- recompiled the library to get the "ti.board.aa15fg". That's ok!

2. Re build a diagnostic Test LED specific for my board, after followed the procedure provided by TI

- I copy past the "TEST_LED" folder and modified the makefiles to fit with my board,

- I get the .out after compilation. That's ok!

After launching the target config corresponding to my board in CCS, and connect the A15_0 CPU, I load the generated .out file, I get the following error:

"CortexA15_0: File Loader: Verification failed: Values at address 0x80000000 do not match Please verify target memory and memory map.
CortexA15_0: GEL: File: C:\ti\pdk_am57xx_1_0_14\packages\ti\board\bin\MasterNxG\armv7\led_Test_diagExample_MasterNxG_armv7.out: a data verification error occurred, file load failed."

Could you please give me some assistance? I think DDR and clock config are part of the most important think to do but I don't know how.?

Thanks in advance.

Sylvain.

Dear TI,

I need to understand the Smart reflex core voltage.

  1. How to reduce device power consumption?
  2. How to scale/ optimize  the core voltage?
  3. schematic is attached for your review..  VID outputs of SM320C6678 are connected LM10011 and Enable control of LM10011 is connected to CPLD.  Is these connections are correct?
  4. When CPLD has to switch-on LM10011. What will be the CVDD voltage?

Linux/AM4376: VGA output issue

Hi SIr

We used  ti-processor-sdk-linux-am437x-evm-05.00.00.15 for development and connected TTL signal to ADV7125 DAC for VGA output.

And we set 1024x768/@60 output and found the picture lost some horizontal lines in the right half of the picture.

below is the picture and dts setting.

                panel-timing {

                        clock-frequency = <65000000>;

                        hactive = <1024>;

                        vactive = <768>;

                        hfront-porch = <24>;

                        hback-porch = <160>;

                        hsync-len = <136>;

                        vback-porch = <29>;

                        vfront-porch = <3>;

                        vsync-len = <6>;

                        hsync-active = <0>;

                        vsync-active = <0>;

                        de-active = <1>;

                        pixelclk-active = <1>;

                };

BTW, we also modified the parameter of hfront-porch and hback-porch.  it seems no help and only cause the picture shift.

It seems some RGB signal got lost and caused this issue.

Does TI expert have any suggestion for this or any DSS register to improve this phenomenon ?

Hi,

Previously I was bringing up the mmc3 interface (for wifi module) in dra77x with kernel version 4.4  processor sdk linux automotive v5_00_00_01 and was successful in it.

On porting to v4.14, I find some trouble in bringing it up on applying the previous changes of device tree file here.

What changes might be required in this version of kernel ?

I tried applying the exact changes from dra7.dtsi, dra76-evm.dts and dra76x-mmc-iodelay.dtsi from prev. version to the latest version, but still couldnt find any hope.

Hi

Am using the i2c interface between the dsp and slave.

I want to write data to the address present in sequential which is of 4bytes, e.g 0x0001,0x0002,0x0003,0x0004.

how can i write without closing the i2c bus or stop bit.

i thought of repeated start how can i implement any suggestions regarding this.

Thanks

Linux/TDA2EVM5777: OpenCV does not work in Usecase

Hi.

I am working on creating a new OpenCV algorithm that works on the A15 core.

First, I built the new MYAPP with the OpenCV Canny algorithm.

However, OpenCV does not work in Usecase.

The link structure of UC is as follows.

NullSrc (A15) -> Decode -> VPE -> Alg_OpenCVCanny (A15) -> Sgx_Frmcpy (A15) -> Display

(I used NullSrc because I do not have a camera.)

The setting of UC was the same with NullSrcDecDisplay and vip_single_cam_opencvcanny_sgx_display UC.

The process of running UC is as follows.
1. cd / opt / vision_sdk
2. source ./vision_sdk_load.sh
3. ./myapp.out

Linux/AM5718: GPIO debounce error

Part Number: AM5718

Tool/software: Linux

Hi,

I am using AM5718 IDK EVM,and ti-processor-sdk-linux-am57xx-evm-05.03.00.07.

I'm connecting a switch to J51 to check debouncing in GPIO. GPIO2_22 (GPIO no 54) is used here.

When I insert the driver with the call,

 int_Result = gpio_set_debounce(54, 30);

 I get kernel error which is given in the attached file.

As I understand, function clock needs to be enabled for GPIO to activate debouncing.

If I write the value to enable function clock to the appropriate register (addr = 0x4A009760, Value = 0x20101), it is working. ( gpio_set_debounce(54, 30); does not give any error and it seems debounce is enabled).

Please tell me how to enable function clock for GPIO debounce (Please visit the site to view this file) through linux?

regards,

Anupama
