Linux/AM5718: McSPI device tree settings

Part Number:AM5718

Tool/software: Linux

Hi

I have a custom AM5718 board having 4 MCSPIs connected to ARINC , MIL, ADC and DAC respectively.

The dts file I am modifying for these is Linux_Source/arch/arch/boot/dts/am57xx-idk-common.dtsi.I have added nodes for MCSPI1,2 and 4.But there is a node for MCSPI3 already present in the file.If I am replacing the existing one with the custom MCSPI3 node ,while building Kernel it throws following error.

Error: arch/arm/boot/dts/am572x-idk-common.dtsi:103.1-12 Label or path sn65hvs882 not found
FATAL ERROR: Syntax error parsing input tree
scripts/Makefile.lib:317: recipe for target 'arch/arm/boot/dts/am574x-idk.dtb' failed
make[1]: *** [arch/arm/boot/dts/am574x-idk.dtb] Error 1
arch/arm/Makefile:353: recipe for target 'dtbs' failed
make: *** [dtbs] Error 2

How can I add the custom node for MCSPI3 for ADC replacing the current one?

Thanks and Regards...

Hi,

The customer wants to connect the camera to the AM5718.

The camera module spec is not yet defined.

They store one frame of image in storage and display it on LCD.

It does not display the live stream.

sdk version: ti-processor-sdk-linux-rt-am57xx-evm-05.02.00.10

I have a question.

Can M4 core do the above without using ARM resources?

Is there an example to refer to?

TDA2PXEVM: Some questions about upcoming TDA4 ISP

Part Number:TDA2PXEVM

Hi,

I'm looking through TDA4VM trm (J721E DRA829/TDA4VM/AM752x Processors Silicon Revision 1.0), and having some questions about its ISP.

1) What's the max. resolution of ISP
I could find only 4M camera in camera subsystem. 4MP is 2592x1520 or horizontal max. 2816 (same as TDA2Px) or anything else?

2) Will the ISP tuning tool (DCC for TDA2Px) be provided for TDA4? When will it be released?
I'd like to get one at the release of TDA4 EVB.

3) Can I get ISP overview materials such as "DM36x ISP and Tuning" by Hua, Gang?

Hi,

I got the NAND ubi file system (.ubi) with   Mr. Kemal help to support Qt.  there are two problems finding in softwoare developing:

2)When our program is collapsed in the debuging, the following errors appeared  at for few minutes periodically, even if the system is restarted. we don't know how to cancel it :

MISTR-3P-POM-AM437X: Use PRU-ICSS to access the HW Resource on L3/L4 for Real Time Application

Part Number:MISTR-3P-POM-AM437X

Hi,

Is it possible to ensure the real time capability while PRU-ICSS accesses the resource on L3/L4?

Though TI has provided a reference design about the SPI firmware on PRU (http://www.ti.com/tool/TIDEP0033),

it is an assembly code and a little hard for further development and integration. So, I want to access L3/L4 resource

on PRU-ICSS, but it also means the data path is longer than before and the latency might be non deterministic

due to bus conflict, right?

TMS320C6746: Undefined EDMA errors

I use EDMA3+McBSP.

Transfers (480 bytes) start with period of 5 seconds. After each transfer started there are 3 interrupts raised:

1. EDMA3_0_CC0_ERRINT

2. EDMA3_0_CC0_INT1

3. EDMA3_0_CC0_ERRINT again

[05.06.2019 11:22:04] Start
[05.06.2019 11:22:04] Err 230: EMR=0 CCERR=0 QEMR=0 EEVAL=0
[05.06.2019 11:22:04] Stp 119
[05.06.2019 11:22:04] Err 231: EMR=4 CCERR=0 QEMR=0 EEVAL=0
[05.06.2019 11:22:09] Start
[05.06.2019 11:22:09] Err 232: EMR=0 CCERR=0 QEMR=0 EEVAL=0
[05.06.2019 11:22:09] Stp 11a
[05.06.2019 11:22:09] Err 233: EMR=4 CCERR=0 QEMR=0 EEVAL=0

As it seen, in 1st DMA Error interrupt all status registers = 0.

 How can this be and how can I determine the cause of error?

RTOS/AM5728: How to properly debug PDK components

$

Part Number:AM5728

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

Hi,

I'm using AM5728 IDK, SDK version is 5.03.

In my app I need to properly debug EMAC.

I rebuilt EMAC with debug info by editing

ti/pdk_am57xx_1_0_14/packages/ti/build/Rules.make

and setting BUILD_PROFILE to debug

I can see that indeed the build output goes to debug directory instead of release.

When I build my app with CCS9 I get

generating custom ti.sysbios library makefile ...
Linking with library ti.transport.ndk.nimu:./lib/am572x/a15/release/ti.transport.ndk.nimu.aa15fg
Linking with library ti.drv.emac:./lib/am572x/a15/release/ti.drv.emac.aa15fg
Linking with library ti.board:./lib/idkAM572x/a15/release/ti.board.aa15fg
Linking with library ti.drv.i2c:./lib/a15/release/ti.drv.i2c.aa15fg
Linking with library ti.drv.uart:./lib/a15/release/ti.drv.uart.aa15fg
Linking with library ti.osal:./lib/tirtos/a15/release/ti.osal.aa15fg
Linking with library ti.csl:./lib/am572x/a15/release/ti.csl.aa15fg

And when I step debug it feels like the library was built with optimization.

I guess I need to config the project to link with the debug version of the libraries, but I don't know how to do this.

How can I properly debug EMAC?

Thanks,,

Nir.

66AK2G12: DDR3L connection

Part Number:66AK2G12

Hello,

I'm designing a new project with 66AK2G12 1GHZ processor. in the spec the max. size of the EMIF DDR is 4GB.

I'll like to connect 4GB DDR3L with ECC. I thought about connect two 2GB 16bit chips and one 8 bit 2GB for ECC.

I checked the EVM of this chip, the design was with 4 chips of 4GB of 8 bit and one chip of 4GB 8 bit for ECC. I'm not sure why is that, I'll like to know if my design is correct.

Snir

AM3358: Starter Kit diagnostics

Hi,

We are using Beaglebone Black. We want to run diagnostic code on it. We followed the link http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/AM335x_Starter_Kit_Diagnostics#DDR3_DMA_Test_Test

As mentioned in the link, I formatted SD card (F drive on my pc) using HP formatter.  Then opened F drive and copied files 'MLO' and 'app'  into it.  Inserted SD card into beaglebone black.

Started putty at 115200 baudrate.  Powered up the board and pressed the sw5 key near SD card. But nothing was logging on serial terminal. Why diagnostic binary failed to run?

AM5708: OpenCV display issue

Hi:

 board:Custom board AM5708

I wrote an openCV acquisition display program directly. It is found that the first execution of the program cannot be displayed, and the second execution of the program can be displayed. I think odd numbers can't be successful, even numbers can be displayed successfully.

But it will only be like this on SDK 5.3, it can be normal on SDK version 4.3.

Part Number:AM5726

Hi,

Our customer will use three QSPI flash.
Which is the correct schematic of connecting QSPI_SCLK and QSPI_RTCLK?
There was one connection, but there was no connection for multiple use in the AM572x datasheet.
Figure 8-30. QSPI Interface High Level Schematic

The following is described in TRM. When using in MODE 3, is QSPI_RTCLK loopback not required?

Table 24-355. QSPI I/O Signals
In case Mode 3 is used, there is no need to connect the qspi1_sclk to the qspi1_rtclk.

DRA750: MMC1 timings in Default Speed Mode

Part Number:DRA750

A customer identified a timing violation in his system using MMC1 in Default Speed mode. Based on our DM, the required hold time in this mode is 20.46ns. Measured hold time is only in the range of 15ns. So far connected SD cards are working without any issues even with this hold time violation. Anyhow, this problem needs to be fixed for an automotive system in production.

Can anybody explain why DRA75x needs a hold time of more than 20ns only in DS mode (see DM extract below)?

Isn't that violating the SD Specification Part 1 (Physical Layer Specification) which defines an input set-up and hold time for CMD and DAT of always 5ns?

Best regards, Manfred

OMAP-L138: USB times out in Windows 10

On previous thread 2942257, it was suggested to migrate to the SDK for a RTOS........is there any other option other than changing to a RTOS that would enable USB to work in WIndows 10?  Changning our embedded system to RTOS would not be possible at this point.  Thanks,

Linux/AM5728: PWM on Timer15

$

Part Number:AM5728

Tool/software: Linux

I'm using TI's Linux Kernel 4.9 with SDK 4.02 on my custom AM5728 board.

My board got a PWM controlled beeper on Timer 15. The hardware was verified by directly manipulating the register bank associated with it, but setting it up through the Linux Device Tree is proving it to be difficult.

We have enabled a few things in the kernel:

CONFIG_PWM_TIEHRPWM=y

CONFIG_PWM_TIPWMSS=y

CONFIG_INPUT_PWM_BEEPER=y

CONFIG_PWM_OMAP_DMTIMER=y

And added a node here in the DTS:

beeper {

                compatible = "pwm-beeper";

                pwms = <&timer15>;

};

The U-Boot is also mux'ed correctly.

With the above changes, there is still no new device under /sys/class/pwm.

Anywhere else I should look at?

Linux/TDA2SX: How do I create a Shared storage area that both Linux and RTOS can access

$

Part Number:TDA2SX

Tool/software: Linux

Hi,

I developed on PROCESSOR_SDK_VISION_03_06_00_00, and my chip is TDA2Sx.

I have two links, network test LINk and McSpi test LINk, among which network test LINk runs on A15 and Linux, while McSpi test LINk runs on IPU2 and RTOS.

I wanted to share data between two links, so I wanted to create a storage area that both links could access.

How do I create it?

Thanks,

Kepei
