Hi Community,
We are doing a project where we want very low power consumption when the DSP is not being utilized. To do this We want to switch off the power to the DSP core and peripherals completely and only run the RTC on the C674X with a separate power supply. When the RTC is ready to wake the modem then it will switch on the power supplies of the DSP which will then boot up and do it's task. The RTC will be set to periodic wake up (every 5secs). We would like to use the on-bard RTC without having an additional micro to do the preceding.
Questions are:
1. Is there a pin output from the RTC that is independent of the core that can be used as a control line to switch on the power supplies to the DSP core and other peripherals?
2. As the RTC can have completely independent power supply it seems logical that the above can be done but I could not find the documentation to research this.
3. There seems to be very little info (or very well hidden info) re the C674X RTC. Can you point me to the relevant documentation on TI website?
Thank you and regards
