AM5748: MII routing lengths and series termination

I'm posting on behalf of my customer:

In the Ethernet section of the AM57xx Schematic Checklist, it mentions:

“No series resistors are required for MII signals.  They may be implemented on the clock signals if the routes are long or through a connector”.

I am using MII but

1. Is 3-4 inches considered long?
2. Is there internal series termination already inside AM57xx? I could not find any info on this in datasheet and TRM. I might have missed it.
