Part Number: OMAP-L138
Dear support,
The processor OMAP-L138 was used inside our design since 2012 without any problem.
But since March 2018 we had a big problem with around 25% of new boards coming from production.
We did not touch the design and did not touch the parts list.
Description of the problem : at a certain range of temperature depending of the board (not always the same range), the DPS of the OMAP-L138 stop to work. If the DSP stop to work, the ARM continue to work. If we restart the system inside this problematic range of temperature, only the ARM restart. the DSP is not working. If we restart the system outside the problematic range the DSP+ARM is working perfectly together.
We already have had this problem with several batch of processor. We also tried to solder an other processor to a defect board and the problem still be present inside the same temperature range. For this reason we do not think it is a problem of quality of the processor.
Maybe a problem of the design... I already revised the schematic with an other company and compared the schematic with an evaluation board.
Do you already heard something like that ?
I have no more idea what we can do. Do you have some idea to tests ?
Is it possible for you to check the schematics ?
Do you think it could be a problem of the firmware ?
