Linux/OMAP-L138: McASP using Rx clock generation module

Part Number:OMAP-L138

Tool/software: Linux

Hi,

We are planning to do some development work with a new codec using an OMAP-L138 whose HW design already has an audio DAC on the McASP. This DAC uses the TX clock generation module (ACLKX and AFSX) for the bit and word clock. The L138 EVM also uses the TX generation module to interface to their codecs.

I'd like to instead use the available RX clock generation module (ACLKR and AFSR), whose signals are available along with serializer signals (AXR13, AXR14). We would disable the existing DAC by placing it in reset and then modifying the current EVM Linux source (sound / soc / davinci / davinci-mcasp.c)  to use the RX generation module.

Are there any potential problems with using the the Rx clock module to drive the bit & word clock, the AHCLKR mclk is current driven by an external 24.768Mhz clock?

Thanks in advance, Tom
