HI, I am interested in buying theOMAP-L138 Development Kit to develop a multi channel audio mixer application. I found the mcASP interface wiki. I seams this is restricted to 16 channels of IO in 32bit although I think you can IO 16bit or 24bit and pad the rest with 0's. I can't find any basic demo of this functionality although the DSP advertises itself as easy to use. I'm not best at C code but can probably adapt audio IO demos in the Code Composer IDE if there are any? Also will this board be powerful enough to mix 32 channels of audio or more ? or should I be looking and the MCSDK ( multiplatform DSP / CPU boards? Also is it hard to implement multiple I2S channels over GPIO pins rather than using mcASP? it seams there are IP cores in FPGA for I2S, are there such interface blocks for the TI DSP's or are we restricted to the 16 IO's on mcASP? I can't find any audio IO or mcASP mention in the multicore DSP's, only audio over IP?
I would appreciate any advice. I would like a scale-able platform that I can grow audio IO into 64 channels should I want without running out of IO bandwidth.
Is this omap l138 mcasp ?
