C6748 cannot boot from NAND flash using the starterware NAND application on LCDK

I am having a problem with booting from NAND after writing the ais image of a simple blinking led application through the starterware NAND application. I've successfully written the application and booted correctly from it using the NAND Writer Project and UART2 found in the OMAP-L138_FlashAndBootUtils_2_40. I'm trying to emulate what the NAND Writer is doing (using starterware) by writing the application starting from page 0 in block 1. I've read the contents of the NAND (after writing using the starterware application) using the NAND Writer and it appears to be correct though I can't boot correctly from it.

What am I missing?
